Description:
Anugrah’s passion, love and delight in people with disabilities is rooted in our Christian faith.
Children with disabilities have very few facilities in India. A hospital staff worker, Mr. Robert Kumar whose son had cerebral palsy, started the project in 2002. Anugrah (which means “blessing”) provides physical and occupational therapy, as well as special education. More recently learning centres have been developed in villages for easier access.
Anugrah has stepped into this challenge to provide a range of services aimed at caring for families and raising awareness in the community. They work directly with people with disabilities, treating them with dignity to create opportunities and improve their quality of life.
Anugrah is committed to empower people with disabilities to improve their quality of life by enhancing their potential (functional, social, educational, spiritual and vocational dimensions), improving the well being of their families and by creating communities who are responsive and responsible.
EHA Canada funds the Learning Centre in Jassowalla, near the Herbertpur Hospital.
