Dear Friend of EHA Canada,
The challenges of the Canadian winter are softened for us in EHA Canada as we issue tax receipts for the previous year. Yes, tax receipts! As these non-descript pieces of paper are being mailed out, we remember our many generous donors. Many of you have been faithful givers over the years. Some of you are new, we welcome you to our family. We know that some of you give generously despite limited resources and fiscal challenges. The act of giving is more than sending a cheque or filling out an online form. Giving requires a commitment – in this case commitment to people far away who are less fortunate than ourselves. Giving also implies prayer. I am frequently gratified when people stop me and ask me about a person or project connected with EHA – often with the added refrain that they are praying.
Through your giving this last year, desperate Nepali villagers were afforded much needed relief, Indian mission workers were given a place of rest and retreat, children with disabilities were given hope, women suffering domestic abuse were helped, young women who were training to be nurses have their dreams fulfilled, village girls were kept out of the clutches of human traffickers, little newborn babies’ lives were saved (through NeST), and the elderly and dying were comforted. For a full list of our current projects, visit our website at (www.ehacanada.org).
For those of you who gave towards the Nepal earthquake relief, your receipts for this designation were mailed to you in May. For those of you who gave through CanadaHelps, you should have received your receipts from them already.
So, thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity. “God loves a cheerful giver.”
