About Hope House

Since 2006, The Hope House, a registered charitable organization based in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India, has been providing safe, nurturing, and legally compliant institutional care for children who have been abandoned, orphaned, abused, neglected, or are otherwise in need of care and protection.

For more than two decades, we have been committed to restoring dignity, security, and hope to vulnerable children by providing them with a loving environment where they can heal, grow, and prepare for independent adulthood. Our work is carried out through two government-recognized institutions:

  • Children’s Home
  • Specialized Adoption Agency
  • Hope House has been operating its Children’s Home since 2006. The home is licensed to accommodate 19 children (17 girls and 2 boys) and currently provides care for 16 children (15 girls and 1 boy).

Every child is admitted only through the statutory process administered by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), ensuring that admissions fully comply with the provisions of India’s child protection laws.

Our commitment is to provide every child with far more than shelter. We offer comprehensive care at no cost to the child or family, including:

    • Safe accommodation
    • Nutritious meals
    • Clothing and personal necessities
    • Education
    • Healthcare
    • Emotional and psychological support
    • Recreation and sports
    • Life-skills and character development
    • A stable, caring environment where every child is treated with dignity and respect

SPECIALIZED ADOPTION AGENCY:

Recognizing the urgent need for specialized care for abandoned children with disabilities and complex medical conditions, Hope House established its Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA) in 2022.

The agency is licensed to care for 14 children, and it is currently operating at full capacity.

This is the first specialized adoption agency in India dedicated exclusively to children with special needs, many of whom require continuous medical attention, specialized therapies, and intensive caregiving.

OUR NEED:
The Hope House is seeking a partnership with EHA Hospitals Canada to facilitate fundraising among compassionate Canadian donors.

Support raised through EHA Hospitals Canada would help sustain:

  • The ongoing operations of our Children’s Home; and
  • Essential operational costs of our Specialized Adoption Agency that are not covered by the Azim Premji Foundation.

Every contribution directly impacts the lives of vulnerable children by providing safety, healthcare, education, nutrition, and the opportunity to build a brighter future.
